Mallorca fills 16 permanent posts after 20-year gap

Sixteen civil servants took up permanent posts at Mallorca Island Council (Consell de Mallorca) and the Mallorca Institute of Social Affairs (IMAS) in Palma on Friday, 4 September. The appointments come after 20 years without island-wide competitive recruitment exams. Twelve of the new staff joined the council and four joined IMAS.

The posts are for general administration technicians in Group A, subgroup A1. Mallorca Island Council had not launched a recruitment process from its public employment offer since 2006.

Council president Llorenç Galmés attended the ceremony and said the authority had offered almost 200 posts during this term to strengthen its workforce. There are now 193 posts open across 59 different categories.

The Mallorca School of Public Administration managed the recruitment process and its selection panels.
