Mallorca weather: Showers possible over Pilar weekend
Mallorca's Pilar weekend carries a rain risk: showers are possible in the Balearic Islands during the first half of Friday and again on Monday 12 October. The Monday showers would generally be very light and most likely in the afternoon, according to a forecast from eltiempo.es issued on 8 October. The forecast does not say whether they will reach Mallorca itself.
A weather system known as a DANA is expected to lie between the Gulf of Cádiz and the Canary Islands from Thursday to Saturday, then move east along North Africa. It may bring showers and thunderstorms to parts of Spain without passing directly over the country. The Canary Islands face more persistent showers and thunderstorms on Friday, possibly heavy in some places during the afternoon.
By Monday, the DANA is expected to be weakening over Algeria, while most of Spain has settled weather. Scattered showers remain possible in the Balearic Islands, but where any rain falls is still uncertain.
