€100 million for hotels in 2026: Piñero plans to renew and improve properties in the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Jamaica and Spain. Chief executive Encarna Piñero sets out the plan on 1 October 2026 at a media meeting in Samaná, Dominican Republic, where the group is marking 20 years of operations.

The money forms part of a three-year, €250 million programme. Piñero says the priority is to strengthen the properties the group already has.

New destinations remain under consideration. The group is looking at opportunities in the Caribbean, the western Mediterranean, North Africa and southern Europe. Piñero says any future holiday property must have a promising location and good connections. She names no western Mediterranean destination and does not say which properties in Spain might receive upgrades.

The group's alliance with Hyatt, announced in October 2024, is intended to support its growth. Piñero says the companies have been bringing their teams and working methods together. She sees a chance to combine Piñero’s holiday-hotel experience with Hyatt’s international distribution. The group is also pursuing a new phase for its travel company Soltour and has entered urban hotels with Terreno Barrio Hotel. For now, the €100 million plan is about improving existing properties, not building at a named new destination.
