Mallorca election: Podemos joins united Balearic list

Mallorca is part of a last-minute election deal: Podemos gives up its own Balearic Congress list and gets the third spot on Ara Més’s ticket for an independent candidate. The parties reached the agreement a day before the deadline for submitting candidate lists. Ara Més had already struck a deal with Frente Amplio, and ERC is also involved in its list.

The pact leaves the Balearic Islands with a joint list for the coming Congress election. Valencia also has a united alternative-left ballot, but the picture elsewhere is more divided. In Andalusia, Frente Amplio, Adelante Andalucía and Podemos are each standing separately.

For the Senate, Podemos is not fielding a list on Mallorca. On Ibiza and Formentera, it is backing joint lists with the Socialists instead.
