Mallorca housing row: Podemos says Prohens recycles plans

In Palma, Mallorca, José María García calls for more help for renters and accuses Balearic president Marga Prohens of repeating housing announcements she has made since 2023. The Unidas Podemos parliament member spoke on 20 October, after Prohens addressed a general policy debate.
García says Prohens is ignoring protests for decent housing and a general strike planned for 11 November. He also criticises her for saying little about tourism while presenting a longer tourist season as an answer to every problem.
The government has no new ideas, García argues. He wants it to tackle the housing problem by starting with more aid for people who rent.
