Seven Ibiza police officers honoured with merit medals
Seven National Police officers receive merit medals in Eivissa, Ibiza, on Friday, 2 October, as the force marks Police Day. Each receives a Police Merit Medal with a White Distinction, the National Police says. Eivissa’s chief prosecutor, Bárbara Moreno, also receives a medal in recognition of her career and the work she often does alongside the force.
Raquel Guasch, the Spanish state administration’s director for the Pityusic Islands, and Eivissa police chief inspector Alfonso Ares lead the ceremony. Ares says his station always tries to respond to local problems and that people in Ibiza should be proud of its officers.
Eivissa island council president Vicent Marí and the town’s mayor, Rafa Triguero, also attend. Guasch congratulates those awarded medals and the wider force as it celebrates the feast of the Guardian Angels.
