Police and Guardia Civil forces across the Balearic Islands lack staff and resources, the regional government says. Antonia Estarellas made the claim during Tuesday's Parliament sitting in Palma, Mallorca, on 15 September. She said Spain's central government was not meeting the needs of the National Police and Guardia Civil.

Estarellas was answering Vox MP Sergio Rodríguez, who criticised what he called the poor relationship between central government delegate Alfonso Rodríguez and the security forces. The regional minister said her department and the Balearic Government were concerned by the differences between the delegate and the forces.

She also pointed to regional government measures intended to help retain professionals.
