Spanish police seek 679 unmarked cars worth €19,219,020

Spain’s National Police is seeking 679 unmarked cars through a 48-month rental contract estimated at €19,219,020. The tender was published in Madrid on Monday, 14 September. It covers what the force calls type K cars — vehicles that are disguised or used without police markings.

The contract is split into three lots: 160 cars in the light segment, 369 in the middle segment and 150 in the high segment. One company can bid for all three lots.

For the first two lots, the price offered carries 91% of the scoring, while maintenance at official workshops accounts for the remaining 9%. In the high-segment lot, price again counts for 91%, maintenance is worth 5%, and offering three different makes adds 4%.

The tender gives preference to firms employing disabled workers and to companies that help people facing social exclusion into work. It also requires measures intended to remove inequalities between men and women.
