In Palma, Mallorca, Pere Joan Pons takes office as the Spanish government’s representative for the Balearic Islands on Tuesday, 3 November. The ceremony starts at 16.00 at the Government Delegation’s headquarters, the delegation says. Spain’s Council of Ministers removed Alfonso Rodríguez and appointed Pons a week earlier.

Rodríguez said in July that he would run again for mayor of Calvià, Mallorca, in the elections planned for 2027.
