Two children stable after pool incidents in Mallorca and Eivissa

Two children who were taken to hospital in a serious condition after separate pool incidents in Port de Pollença, Mallorca, and Cala Tarida, Eivissa, on Monday 17 August 2026 are improving and are not believed to be in danger.

The four-year-old British boy and two-year-old French girl both remain under paediatric observation, health sources said.

Boy treated at Son Espases

The boy was in the paediatric emergency unit at Hospital Universitario Son Espases on Monday afternoon. Hospital sources said his condition was stable despite the seriousness of his injuries.

The incident happened at about 9.55am while he was swimming in the pool at Club Náutico del Port de Pollença.

Girl remains under observation in Eivissa

The French girl was reported to have improved during the day after the incident at a hotel pool in Cala Tarida, which occurred at about 11.15am.

The Área de Salud de las Pitiusas said she remained under observation in paediatrics, with a positive prognosis.
