Port d’Andratx harbour overhaul gets green light
Port d’Andratx harbour is set for a full overhaul after Andratx Town Hall and Ports IB agreed a plan on Wednesday. The project targets the appearance, upkeep and modernisation of the quayside at the Mallorca harbour. Public spaces and facilities are also included.
The town hall says the harbour needs a general refresh to improve its image and bring its spaces and installations up to date. It has asked Ports IB to give the berthing area attention that matches its importance and to press ahead with a wider modernisation.
Mayor Estefanía Gonzalvo said the harbour forms part of Andratx’s identity and “deserves to be in the best condition”. The council says action is especially needed to stop Port d’Andratx falling behind other harbour facilities across the Balearic Islands.
