Porto Cristo crash: driver held after 23-year-old dies
A 23-year-old woman died at the scene after a car left the Ma-4020 near Porto Cristo, Mallorca, overturned and hit a tree on Sunday night. The driver was arrested on Tuesday, 1 September, over the crash. A 41-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries and another, aged 35, was lightly hurt.
The car ran off the left side of the road at kilometre seven at about 23.45. The woman became trapped inside the vehicle and died at the scene, according to the SAMU 061 emergency service.
The Guardia Civil arrested the driver on suspicion of causing death by negligence, injury and an offence against road safety. He is due to appear before a judge in Manacor on Tuesday afternoon.
