Alcúdia power cuts: council presses grid operator for action
Alcúdia Council in Mallorca has called on electricity network operator e-distribución to address power cuts reported in the municipality in recent weeks. Mayor Fina Linares and Works Councillor Rafal Ferrer raised the issue at a meeting on Monday, 17 August, with the company’s Balearic network director, Joseba Gámez, and Mallorca technical team head Felipe Domínguez.
The operator said it would carry out a study to reconfigure loads across the network. It is also preparing an additional plan for next winter covering low- and medium-voltage networks.
E-distribución asked the council to help identify potential sites for new distribution centres. The municipal governing team said it would look for suitable locations.
