Formentera power upgrade aims to help 2,078 customers
On the island of Formentera, 2,078 customers stand to benefit: Endesa is building a 319-metre power link to help restore electricity faster if a line fails. The company said on 6 November 2026 that it is investing 113,571 euros in the work through its distribution subsidiary, e-distribución.
The new link will connect sections of the Savina medium-voltage line between the Migjorn and Hospital Formentera transformer stations. Both stations are also due to be refurbished.
The link will give electricity another route through the network when a line fails or is unavailable, Endesa says. The company says a stronger network matters especially during Formentera’s busiest months, when demand puts more strain on the system.
