Mallorca’s families and businesses would pay less tax under the People’s Party’s (PP) election plans: its Balearic candidate also promises better wages and renewed investment ahead of Spain’s 29 November general election. José Vicente Marí Bosó set out the pledges on 4 November, according to a PP statement. Other party candidates and Jaume Llompart, mayor of Marratxí on Mallorca, joined him at the event.

Marí Bosó said party leader Feijóo’s plans would also improve public services and cut bureaucracy. He pointed to the Balearic government’s administrative simplification decrees under Marga Prohens as a model for Spain. He also accused the Socialist Party of corruption in Spanish government institutions.

For the Balearic Islands, the PP wants a national infrastructure plan covering road agreements with the island councils and outstanding wastewater treatment works. Marí Bosó said the party would take those investment demands to Spain’s government.
