Ibiza PP candidate seeks tax relief for families
Ibiza, Spain: families and small businesses should keep more of their money, says Carmen Ferrer, the People’s Party (PP) candidate for the island’s Senate seat. Speaking to reporters on 6 November, she called for tax reform to ease the burden on households and businesses, including self-employed workers.
Ferrer also wants simpler government procedures so people and firms spend less time and money on paperwork. Economic growth, she said, should bring better wages and pensions, as well as more buying power. The PP says Spain’s next government must pay particular attention to Ibiza, where island geography and high living costs affect families and businesses.
Vicent Marí, president of the Ibiza Island Council, backed the call for a change of government. He accused Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s government of leaving Ibiza with inadequate state services. Ferrer also criticised Spain’s institutions and said public trust in them must be restored.
