Mallorca priest removed from duties over touching claim

Mallorca’s diocese has removed a priest from pastoral duties after an adult woman told a social worker he had allegedly touched her. The Diocese of Mallorca confirmed the move on Friday, 6 November. The woman has not filed a complaint, the diocese says.
The diocese says it followed its current protocols and considers the decision proportionate to the woman’s account. It does not see a need for further measures at present, but says it will help clarify what happened if new information emerges.
