Mallorca: Prohens likens opposition to 'virgins' in debate

In Palma, Mallorca, Balearic Islands government president Marga Prohens likens the opposition to “virgins” on 21 October 2026, accusing it of acting as though it has never governed. The remark comes on the second day of the General Policy Debate, which coincides with Dia de les Verges (Day of the Virgins).
Replying to parliamentary groups, Prohens accuses the left of “collective amnesia”. She says its attacks on middle incomes leave the most vulnerable poorer and deepen social divisions. She also calls the left “heirs to the dictatorships of Latin America”.
