Palma project accelerator speeds strategic project bids
Project professionals in Palma were shown on Friday how the Balearic Government’s project accelerator can help strategic schemes move through the administrative process. The session brought together industrial engineers from the Balearic Islands and Mallorca’s technical architects.
The Directorate-General for Strategic Projects, European Funds and Administrative Simplification set out how the Strategic Projects Accelerator Unit, known by its Spanish initials UAPE, works. It also explained which schemes may apply to be declared Projects of Strategic Interest and the conditions they must meet.
The unit is intended to support project promoters from the earliest stages. It is also designed to help different administrations and public bodies coordinate their work, answer questions during processing and make dealings with the authorities easier.
The meeting created a direct channel with professionals from the two bodies, who regularly help prepare and process projects. It also covered the cases that fall outside the strategic-project procedure.
The Balearic Government is working with both professional bodies under collaboration agreements aimed at helping strategic projects develop across the islands.
