Mallorca and Menorca: around 60 public homes move a step closer as the Balearic government approves six building projects on 16 October. At the old hospice in Felanitx, Mallorca, the plans call for eight homes. The other projects are in Petra and Sóller on Mallorca, and Maó and Ciutadella on Menorca.

The largest project is for 19 homes on the Es Cós road in Petra, Mallorca. Another 11 are planned for the former Fantasio cinema on Sant Jaume street in Sóller, Mallorca.

In Maó, Menorca, the bus station building is earmarked for eight homes. Ciutadella, Menorca, has two approved projects: eight homes in El Sindicat passage and three on La Creu street.

Government spokesman Antoni Costa said all six projects had previously been designated investments of regional interest. The approvals cover the building plans; no construction dates were given.
