Mallorca: 230 pupils practise lifesaving CPR in Andratx

In Mallorca, 230 pupils practise emergency resuscitation at Sa Plana municipal football ground in Andratx on Monday, with one training mannequin for each pair. They come from IES Baltasar Porcel, IES Son Ferrer and CEIP Gabriel Palmer. Instructors from the SAMU 061 emergency medical service demonstrate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in person and then by video before the pupils try it themselves.

The session ends with all 230 pupils taking part in a joint resuscitation exercise. The Balearic Islands Department of Education and Universities says the training aims to make schools safer and help them respond quickly to emergencies involving breathing or heart problems.
