Six tennis courts and three padel courts are planned for a new Rafa Nadal Academy centre on Amwaj Islands in Bahrain. The academy aims to open it in the last quarter of 2027. It will be its ninth centre worldwide.
The tennis courts will be indoors and outdoors. Plans also include space for fitness training and recovery, a sports shop and a café. Rafa Nadal Academy coaches will run programmes for players of all ages and abilities.
The academy is developing the centre with HARVE, a hospitality and leisure company backed by Infracorp. It already has an academy in Kuwait; the Bahrain centre would extend its presence in the Middle East.
