Mallorca, in Spain’s Balearic Islands, faces showers and occasional thunderstorms on Monday 5 October. Ibiza and Formentera could get 20 litres of rain per square metre in an hour. A yellow rain warning covers the two islands from 00.00 to 06.00, according to Spain’s state weather agency, the Agencia Estatal de Meteorología (Aemet).

Cloudy spells and showers are expected across the Balearics, with storms possible and rain likely to be heavy in the early hours. Mallorca is not covered by the yellow warning.

On mainland Spain, rain and storms are expected to be less intense than at the weekend, but could spread and strengthen from the afternoon. A weather system west of Portugal is keeping conditions unsettled there.
