Mallorca rain warning as heavy showers loom on Thursday

Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands, faces a rain warning on Thursday: thick cloud and downpours are forecast, with rain across the islands likely to be heavy and possibly very heavy in some places. Spain’s State Meteorological Agency, Aemet, has also issued rain warnings for Eivissa and Formentera. Thunderstorms may accompany some of the rain.
A low-pressure system forming over the Mediterranean is keeping the weather unsettled over the Balearics. Winds across the islands will blow mainly from the north at first, with moderate spells possible. The higher, orange-level rain warning applies to parts of the Murcia region, not Mallorca.
