Mallorca rain warning as heavy showers loom on Friday

Mallorca, in Spain’s Balearic Islands, is under a rain warning on Thursday, 5 November: heavy showers could follow across the islands on Friday, with some places seeing very heavy rain. Ibiza and Formentera are also under rain warnings, as are Alicante and Tarragona, according to Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
A low-pressure system forming over the Mediterranean is keeping the Balearics unsettled. Clouds will remain thick on Friday, with rain sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms. A northerly wind is expected at first and may be moderate at times.
While the weather is expected to settle across much of mainland Spain on Friday, the Balearics remain in the path of the showers.
