Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands, faces up to 30 l/m2 of rain in an hour on Tuesday, with a yellow weather warning in force until 12.00. The weather is expected to settle from Wednesday, though light rain remains possible. Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) says a second rain front is reaching the islands.

The first front linked to the Adam weather system has passed. Over the past 24 hours, Calvià on Mallorca recorded nearly 80 l/m2, Andratx more than 70 l/m2 and parts of the Serra de Tramuntana 60 l/m2. The yellow warning also lasts until 12.00 on the Pityusic Islands and until 18.00 on Menorca.

Wednesday brings spells of cloud and sunshine, with light rain possible, particularly on Menorca early in the morning and at night. Light rain could reach Menorca and northern Mallorca on Thursday. Another front is expected on Friday, but Aemet says it will bring little activity: cloudy skies and some light rain are forecast mainly for Menorca.
