West Mallorca rain defies Spain's 20% shortfall
Western Mallorca in the Balearic Islands gets more rain than usual from 1 to 27 October 2026, while Spain as a whole records about 20% less than normal. Ibiza is wetter than usual too. Menorca’s rainfall is close to normal or slightly above it.
The Spanish State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) puts Spain’s average at 52 litres per square metre, against the usual 65 litres per square metre for the period. Rainfall varies sharply across the mainland: parts of the Mediterranean coast exceed their usual totals, while much of the west is drier than normal.
From 21 to 27 October, rain falls mainly on the Canary Islands and across northern mainland Spain. Elsewhere it is more scattered, with only isolated rainfall on Menorca.
