Mallorca court gives man two years for raping 14-year-old
Two years in prison: a court in Palma, Mallorca, sentences a man after he admits raping and abusing his then 14-year-old girlfriend. He makes the admission on Thursday, 15 October 2026, over an attack in June 2019. The case is heard at the Provincial Court.
The girl refused to have sex with him. He hit her, tore off her clothes and raped her, he admitted. She was 14 at the time; he was 21.
Before the trial began, the parties reached an agreement. The man had paid her €25,000 in compensation, and the agreement took account of the time since the attack.
The court announced its ruling orally. It sentenced him for habitual abuse, abuse in the context of gender-based violence and sexual assault. Alongside the prison term, he received 14 days of community work and a €480 fine. He had initially faced a request for up to 29 years in prison.
