Manacor rape trial: Prosecutors seek 27 years
A man accused of raping his stepdaughter at least once a week for 15 years is due to stand trial in Manacor on Thursday. The Second Section of the Balearic Provincial Court will hear the case at 10.00. Prosecutors are seeking 27 years in prison and €30,000 in compensation.
According to the prosecution, the alleged abuse began no later than 2003, when the girl was 13. The man is accused of sexually touching her at least weekly when they were alone.
Prosecutors say that from 2005 to 2008 he raped her weekly, hit her, threw her against furniture and insulted her. They allege that the rape and abuse continued until 2016.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office says the alleged victim suffered anxiety reactions, severe disruption to her personality development and extreme suffering.
