Balearic Red Cross training: 95% enter job market
More than 150 people across the Balearic Islands have benefited from short training courses, and 95% have entered the labour market: the Balearic Red Cross wins an award for its work helping people who face barriers to employment. The Balearic Association of Installation Companies (Asinem) presents its Lluminosa 2023 prize on Friday, 23 October.
Asinem president Franco Mójer says the Red Cross brought short training programmes into the association’s employment work. It was the first non-profit organisation Asinem worked with. Their partnership gives people in vulnerable situations a route towards jobs in a sector with growing demand for skilled workers.
Balearic Red Cross president Mateu Ballester says the two organisations have worked together on training, career guidance and participation in recruitment. The ceremony also honours retired people from the trade and young installers. Catalina Roig, Mallorca’s first woman coil winder, receives recognition for her career.
