Ibiza care home secures €10.34m for 80 over-65s

Eighty residential care places for people over 65 who require care at the Reina Sofía residence in Eivissa are set to receive up to €10.34 million in funding. The money covers the period from 1 December 2026 to 30 November 2030. On Friday, the Consell de Govern approved the funding agreement with the Ignacio Wallis Foundation.

The foundation runs the accredited residential service at Reina Sofía for 80 people requiring care. Until now, the agreement has been renewed each year. This is the first time it will run for four years, which the Ministry of Families, Social Welfare and Dependency Care says will give the service greater stability and improve care for those using it.

The deal also updates the price paid for each place. On Ibiza, it has stood at €121.52 since 1 June 2026.

The Balearic Government says the increase is intended to keep the system sustainable and ensure services continue on the island.
