Eivissa, Ibiza: Household rubbish bills will range from €79.82 to €333.80 a year in 2027 under rules approved by the city council on 26 October 2026. The amount will depend in part on a home’s official property valuation, known as its cadastral value.

What households will pay

The council has split homes into eight valuation bands. The lowest covers 4,285 properties valued at no more than €40,000. Their annual bill will fall from €85 to €79.82, a drop of 6.1 per cent.

Certain pensioners and people with disabilities may get a 90 per cent reduction, depending on their household income. Homes that record at least 15 deliveries a year to fixed or mobile municipal recycling centres will get a 20 per cent discount, up from 5 per cent.

Businesses and rent aid

Business bills will take account of the type and size of the activity and the waste it produces. Certain businesses using the council’s separate door-to-door collection of organic waste will get a 5 per cent reduction, capped at €300. Longer term, the council aims to factor the number of people in a home and the amount of rubbish it produces into bills.

At the same meeting, the council addressed changes to municipal rent aid for people living in Eivissa. Applications will be checked against the eligibility rules rather than ranked against one another. Applicants must show which monthly rent payments they have made while their applications are being processed. Once aid is approved, the council can pay it by bank transfer without a later round of checks.
