Mallorca rural stays seek more direct bookings

Responsible for this content: Frank Menze

In Porreres, Mallorca, rural accommodation businesses meet on Saturday to find ways to bring in more direct bookings and rely less on big booking platforms. The Balearic Association of Agrotourism and Inland Tourism (Abati) holds its first professional forum at the Porreres Municipal Auditorium from 10.00 to 18.30. It says the aim is to give businesses practical help with management and competitiveness.

Getting noticed online is a central topic. Abati wants rural stays to reach more guests through their own channels, improve profitability and build closer relationships with the people who book them.

The programme also covers sustainability, access to grants, tax and accounting obligations, and certification for quality, circularity and sustainability. Legal rules for agrotourism and inland tourism are on the agenda too, including illegal accommodation and its effects on the sector.
