Manacor's Sa Torre square: play area work resumes
Work resumes on Monday at Sa Torre square in Manacor, Mallorca, with the children’s play area still awaiting its rubber surface and equipment. Manacor Town Council says workers will also finish the compass rose area and fit wooden slats to the pergolas.
The play equipment had to wait until the planned trees were planted. Technical advisers recommended late October, when the weather would be more favourable. The trees are now in the ground.
The compass rose area is already marked out, and a temporary surface allows the square to be used. At the pergolas, wooden slats will replace the temporary shade material. Lighting is also due to be installed.
The council said it would group the remaining jobs together to limit disruption to CEIP Sa Torre primary school, the nursery and neighbours. The temporary yard at the end of Menorca Street remains available if needed, while the street stays closed to traffic. Rosselló Street remains open to pedestrians. The council expects the refurbishment to be complete in November.
