Sant Antoni: Vox presses councillor over 16 contracts
In Sant Antoni on Ibiza, 16 council service contracts put a councillor’s private property deal under scrutiny: Vox says it wants fuller answers from Miguel Tur. At an extraordinary council meeting on Thursday, Tur, a Partido Popular councillor responsible for tourism, festivals and commerce, defended the deal as legal. Vox says he has not adequately explained his financial link to a company associated with businessman Duane Lineker.
Tur said departments under his responsibility had awarded the 16 contracts to companies in the business group involved in the property deal. The council’s finance staff had made observations on eight of those contracts.
Vox says those figures call for a more detailed explanation from Tur and the Partido Popular council administration. It says it is neither challenging the legality of the private deal nor accusing him of a crime. But it argues that assurances of legality and no favouritism have not settled the doubts raised at the meeting.
