Ibiza's Santa Eulària plans 69.5 million euros for 2027
Santa Eulària, Ibiza, is planning a 69.5 million euro budget for 2027: seven million euros more than this year, with a new library and tennis courts among the projects. The council presented its draft on 26 October 2026. It sets aside 6.8 million euros for investment next year, while the full costs of several projects stretch across multiple years.
A library, sports facilities and safer routes
The plans include 200,000 euros to renew changing rooms at Santa Eulària’s sports grounds and a total of 900,000 euros for new tennis courts. The council also expects to start building a 50-metre Olympic swimming pool. A new municipal library, planned to cover 700 square metres, has a total estimated cost of 1.3 million euros.
In Jesús, the centre would become permanently pedestrianised under a plan costing 1.8 million euros overall. Improving the ses Pitreres-sa Llavanera path has a total budget of 2.5 million euros. The final phase of the cycle route extension to es Canar is also included, at a total cost of 3.4 million euros. Water supply and sewerage work is planned for Can Guasch and the La Joya development, with total budgets of 1.3 million and 1.1 million euros respectively. Those project totals are not all spending for 2027.
Staff costs rise as rural property tax falls
The draft puts 35.3 million euros towards day-to-day goods and services, up 13.7 per cent on 2026. Staff costs rise 15.9 per cent to 21.1 million euros. The council plans to recruit an economist and an IT specialist; career progression for staff and a higher residence allowance add about three million euros to its costs.
The council expects more revenue from indirect taxes as construction activity grows and plans to update some fees and public charges. The property tax rate for urban buildings stays at 0.40 per cent, while the rate for rural properties falls from 0.45 to 0.40 per cent.
