Mallorca school aides could get €191 more a month
On Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands, school aides could get up to 191.07 euros more a month under a pay plan backed on Friday, 23 October. A committee representing Balearic regional government employees approved the Education and Universities Department’s proposal. It covers educational technical assistants, known as ATE, who help pupils with special educational needs wash, eat, move around and become more independent.
The proposed increase would come in stages. From 1 January 2027, the aides’ monthly pay supplement would rise by 81 euros, from 237 euros to 318 euros. The department says the increase could reach 191.07 euros a month in 2028. The plan sets out a route to a supplement of 428 euros a month.
The department says the higher payment would better reflect the aides’ work. The committee’s backing does not bring it into force: the proposal must still be incorporated into budget rules.
