Socialist MP Verónica Llufriu says Vera had announced that building work would finish in July, the move would take place in August and classes would begin in the new school. September has passed, she says, and none of those plans has happened.

Vera says his department is closely monitoring the work. He calls the school a longstanding demand in Es Mercadal and says an earlier agreement between the regional government and the town council to build it expired because it was not carried out.

He pledges to open the school as soon as possible, but gives no new date.
