Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands: Prosecutors seek eight years in prison for a man accused of stabbing someone in the back with scissors after he tried to stop a fight. The alleged attack happened at a venue in the early hours of 27 May 2026. The accused is due before the Second Chamber of the Balearic Islands Provincial Court on Monday at 10.00.

According to the prosecution, the accused had been shouting at and grappling with several people. Another man tried to calm him, but he turned on the man, followed him outside and stabbed him. He fled before Spanish National Police officers caught him.

Prosecutors allege attempted homicide and seek compensation of nearly €11,000. They say the accused’s ability to think and control his actions was impaired at the time, though not entirely lost, and want the court to treat that as a mitigating factor.
