The island of Ibiza puts the sea in the frame from 12 to 14 November: photography, films and awards bring marine protection into focus. Mare’s three-day event, ‘La mar ens mou’, brings local groups, creators and the public together. The organisers say they want images to show the richness of marine life and encourage people to protect it.

The programme opens at 18.30 on Thursday 12 November at the Casal d'Igualtat in Eivissa. A round-table discussion will look at how photography can help people understand and protect the sea around Ibiza and Formentera.

At 19.30 on Friday 13 November, Aficine Eivissa screens the documentary ‘Arxipèlag Blau’ alongside other works. The event ends at 11.00 on Saturday 14 November at Teatro Pereyra, where prizes will be presented for the photography competition and ‘Mare Sea Reel’.
