Mallorca port plans 11 seasonal berths in Andratx

Port d'Andratx, Mallorca, is due to get 11 seasonal berths under an agreement reached by Ports IB and Andratx Council on 18 September 2026. The plan focuses on the outer quay of breakwater number 2, where the mooring system will be adapted. Ports IB says the work will also improve safety conditions at the port facilities.

Work at the port

Ports IB and the council will keep working together as they set priorities for the next stages. The planned measures cover different parts of the port and are intended to update infrastructure used for the municipality's economic, nautical and social activity.

The agreement also continues work already launched by Ports IB, including putting the administrative status of the marina facilities in order. Marina Port Andratx has become the new concession holder.

Traditional escars to be restored

Two traditional escars on Avenida Almirall Riera Alemany are also due for restoration. The regional Ministry of the Sea and Water Cycle said the structures are tied to fishing and maritime activity, and the work aims to protect them from deterioration caused by the marine environment.

Ports IB has also granted Club de Vela Port d'Andratx a temporary authorisation covering 114 buoys, two floating pontoons, an outer pontoon and an office. That allows the club to continue its nautical and training activities.
