Mallorca: eight new cameras watch Alaró sports sites
Eight new security cameras are now watching the municipal sports facilities in Alaró, Mallorca. Four cover the football pitch, while two have been fitted at the municipal sports hall and two by the tennis and padel courts. The council says the system widens coverage and gives it more scope to deal with incidents.
The €5,400 project also includes a video recorder and the equipment needed to run the four-camera system at the football pitch. Mallorca Island Council supported the work through a grant aimed at improving municipalities’ digital connectivity and security.
Sports councillor Víctor Peco said the sports hall, football pitch and tennis and padel courts are used heavily. Mayor Llorenç Perelló said the technology would strengthen protection and management of the municipal facilities.
