Balearics service sales rise just 0.4% in July

Service-sector sales in the Balearics rose by only 0.4% in July compared with the same month in 2025. It was the weakest increase of any Spanish autonomous community. The National Statistics Institute (INE) released the figures in Palma on 21 September.
The gain was 4.4 percentage points below Spain’s 4.8% average. Extremadura recorded a 2.3% rise and Navarra 2.7%, while the Basque Country led the country with growth of 8.8%.
From January to July, service-sector turnover in the Balearics increased by 1.7%. That trailed the national average of 5.5% by 3.8 percentage points.
Employment in the Balearics’ service sector was also up 0.4% in July from a year earlier.
