Sewage spill hits Ibiza port after morning rain

A sewage spill affects the port of Eivissa on Ibiza after rain falls over the town on Tuesday morning, 3 November. The spill is identified at about 13.00. The Balearic Islands Port Authority confirms that the port is affected and says the morning rain caused the incident.
The authority says it began its ‘Polrep’ procedure immediately after the spill was identified. It describes that procedure as its usual response to incidents of this kind. Its statement does not say when the spill began or how long it lasted.
