More than €169,400 for Menorca, in the Balearic Islands: the regional government approves funding for three staff at the Veronique crisis centre for women affected by sexual violence. On Friday, 30 October 2026, it authorises the Balearic Women’s Institute to give the money to the Island Council of Menorca to run the centre this year. The service also helps victims’ families and people close to them.

The money will pay for a psychologist, a social worker and a social educator. Keeping those posts filled matters, government spokesman Antoni Costa said: frequent staff changes can make it harder for victims to get steady support as they recover.

The grant will be paid in full without requiring a guarantee first. It forms part of Spain’s State Pact against Gender Violence, which supports 24-hour crisis centres. These public centres provide psychological, legal and social help at any hour.
