Ibiza shack fire kills man, 48, after severe burns

Ibiza: A 48-year-old man dies after fire reaches the makeshift shack where he lives near Casa Lola in Sant Josep, Ibiza, on Sunday, 27 September. He suffers burns to 90 per cent of his body and dies later that day at Can Misses Hospital.
Emergency service SAMU 061 says a call reported the fire in a wooded area on Sunday morning. Two ambulances, one with advanced life support and one with basic life support, attend. Crews stabilise the man and take him to the hospital’s intensive care unit. Medical staff confirm his death after 17.00.
