Mallorca shotguns at €50 each: two men face trial
On Mallorca, two men face trial in Palma on Thursday, 29 October 2026, over stolen hunting shotguns allegedly sold for €50 each, with cocaine also changing hands. One is accused of breaking into communal storage rooms; the other of buying the stolen goods. The hearing begins at 10.00 before the Balearic Islands Provincial Court.
From storage rooms to a sale
Prosecutors say the alleged thief forced open a communal stairwell door on 4 September 2021 and took items, including hunting shotguns, from several storage rooms. He also broke into a machine room and took a brush cutter, an angle grinder and other tools. Investigators found his fingerprints on cardboard boxes.
He then allegedly sold the stolen goods to the second man, who paid €50 for each shotgun and gave him cocaine as well.
Search, threat and possible sentences
Police searched the alleged buyer’s home in Son Banya, Mallorca, and found cash, an Italian army pistol, bags of cocaine, a passport in someone else’s name and seven bicycles. They also found scales and a box containing surveillance cameras and weapons.
On 13 September 2021, while both men were held in police cells, the alleged buyer threatened to kill the man accused of the break-in, prosecutors say. The alleged thief had told officers about the sale and where the buyer lived.
Prosecutors want three years in prison for the alleged thief and €3,085 in compensation. For the alleged buyer, they are seeking ten and a half years in prison and a fine of about €13,000.
