Balearic Islands lose 11,326 social security contributors
Mallorca and the rest of the Balearic Islands lose 11,326 social security contributors in September compared with August: 682,486 people remain registered. That is still 29,079 more than in September 2025, a rise of 4.45%. Spain’s Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration published the figures on Friday, 2 October.
Most contributors, 568,541, pay into the general social security scheme. They include 9,685 domestic workers and 2,911 agricultural workers. Another 110,291 are self-employed, while 3,654 are registered as maritime workers.
In September, 104 workers were also affected by temporary employment measures: 58 women and 46 men.
