More than 100 travel agents from Spain and Portugal have spent a week in the Dominican Republic: Soltour says the trip gives them more to recommend than a beach holiday. The tour operator reported the visit on 6 October 2026. In Samaná, the agents saw natural sites and local cultural projects; they also visited tourism developments in Punta Cana and Playa Nueva Romana.

Soltour organised the trip with the Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Tourism and Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts as part of the Piñero Group’s 20th-anniversary programme. The agents saw new hotel offerings, renovations and new sub-brands from Bahia Principe.

Soltour wants travel agencies to be better able to match holidays to customers’ interests, including nature, culture, food, wellness and golf. It says it has exclusive rights to sell Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts in Spain and Portugal and plans further training for travel professionals.
