Mallorca's Son Espases takes on 93 more nurses
Mallorca’s Son Espases University Hospital in Palma is set to bring in 93 nurses over the coming days. They will work across its departments on interim or long-term contracts.
The hospital offered general nursing posts at a public recruitment call at 10.00 on Wednesday 7 October, the Balearic Islands’ Health Department said.
Son Espases now has 2,165 nurses, up from 1,970 in 2023. That is an increase of 195, or 10%, over three years.
The new nurses will come from existing applicant lists. The department says the recruitment calls will also help bring in a new generation as other nurses approach retirement.
